Backstage Update on HBK vs. Daniel Bryan Happening at WrestleMania

Posted by Eric Arrington December 11, 2013 4 Comments

We’ve noted before how both Triple H and Shawn Michaels were interested in having Daniel Bryan vs. Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania XXX and how Vince was upset that the match wasn’t working out because Shawn wasn’t interested in coming out of retirement.

Word from this week’s RAW is that both Vince and Triple H talked to Shawn about coming out of retirement for the match against Bryan and he does seem more receptive then he was at first. Originally, Shawn wasn’t believed to have put much thought into it.

Still, one WWE source doesn’t expect Shawn will want to come out of retirement when the decision has to be made.

HBK vs Bryan and CM Punk vs Austin are the last “dream matches” I can think of that need to happen. If they actually do get Shawn to do it I hope they at least made sure to talk to Taker about it. As long as it’s to help put over Bryan I can’t see him having a problem with it but still, he has to be cool with it or it’s just a huge slap in his face.

Justin, WOW. That is a great point. They should talk to Taker and make sure he is ok. More of that common sense thought needs to be in the WWE. A “slap in the face” is an understatement. It would suck if he was not informed. But we both know the machine is only concerned about the $$$. I do NOT think he will do it. I think after watching his here (Ric Flair) do it WRONG…he wants to do it RIGHT and stay retired

Both of you guys are out of your mind if you think Taker cares one bit about “retiring” Shawn Michaels wrestling career. Was it a “slap in the face” to Kane when he buried The Undertaker alive? No, it’s a job to these guys and only the fans put the kinda emphasis on trivial stipulations that the matches imply. All Undertaker will care about is that his match isn’t a rotten egg and that he gets a fat check for it.
